Orthopaedic Rehabilitation of the Upper and Lower Quarter

Specialized knowledge and advanced clinical skills are required to practice at a high level in todays’ challenging health care market. We have designed a comprehensive continuing education series in the area of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy to enable you to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to expand and enhance your clinical skill set.

This program is comprised of "hands-on" modules of concentrated classroom and lab instruction. The full series is comprised of 120 hours of classroom and lab instruction geared toward 1) newly graduated physical therapists who work in orthopaedic physical therapy practice with access to skilled and experienced clinical mentors AND 2) experienced clinicians who would like to hone their skills as clinical supervisors of staff therapists, interns and residents.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

• Integrate skill improvement in the area of clinical reasoning with improvements in the application of manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and patient education.
• Prepare participants for successful completion of an APTA credentialed Clinical Residency in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.
• Create mentors for building the next generation of Clinical Specialists in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.
• Produce highly-skilled patient care providers for patients who have common and advanced musculosketal disorders.

Participants may register for each module independently or for the full series which is comprised of both the Upper and Lower quarter.
