Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship in Sports Rehabilitation

MVP Physical Therapy is proud to launch an APTA approved Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Fellowship Program in Sports Rehab for additional post-professional career development.   This year-long fellowship program is designed to provide physical therapists with advanced training in clinical reasoning, examination, treatment and management of patient’s with sports-related injuries.  The clinical and didactic education corresponds with the requirements set forth by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT).

The fellowship program utilizes a broad-based, diverse curriculum that aims to provide the graduates with the ability to apply advanced orthopaedic manual therapy techniques combined with advanced skills in movement analysis, motor control and biomechanics to the injured sports population. In addition, the program provides training on mentoring so as to develop graduates with the ability to train others at a post-professional residency and fellowship level.

For the 2013-2014 academic year, the on-site based classroom/lab component of the MVP Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowshoip in Sports Rehab will be taught at the Lakewood clinic location of MVP Physical Therapy. 

 

The didactic (classroom/lab) education series is held on selected Saturdays from August 2013 to April 2014 between the hours of 8:00am – 12:00pm.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Successful completion of an APTA credentialed orthopaedic physical therapy residency and/or Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS) status.

Hold a valid Washington State Physical Therapy License

Comply with all MVP Physical Therapy employment requirements

Certification in CPR and Emergency Response for sports venue coverage (optional)
